Recycled scrap footage of video distortion, computer feedback and damaged film compose a rhythmic visual soundscape, experimenting with the idea of 'seeing' sounds.

Nominated for the McLaren Animation Award at Edinburgh International Film Festival.

Simon Ellis represents a new generation of animators who continue the tradition of abstract filmmaking. The character of the material, which under other circumstances would be regarded as noise, changes through the cinematic composition and allows us to appreciate it in new ways.

This film jumped out at me in 1998 and I chose it for the Director's Choice programme.  It will give unprepared television viewers a stream of fits as they fiddle with their television controls, and provide academics with an abundance of intellectual feed as they ponder the self-referential nature of a cultural product that highlights the very"materials that enable it to be.  It makes me want to groove!
